The NetBSD Project
Mailing List: http://www.netbsd.org/mailinglists/#netbsd-users
The NetBSD Project is an international collaborative effort of a large group of people, to produce a freely available and redistributable UNIX-like operating system, NetBSD. In addition to our own work, NetBSD contains a variety of other free software, including 4.4BSD Lite from the University of California, Berkeley.
Students who want to to claim a task from NetBSD will be granted access to our Google Code-In development wiki. Just ask in the IRC-channel for access and provide your username and mail address, or ask your mentor.
For the part where you need a running NetBSD operating system, you can either install NetBSD on a computer or a virtual machine, which might take up some time. But alternatively, you can also download our Virtualbox images from ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/GCi to have an up-and-running NetBSD system.
