The Open Source Lab at Oregon State University exists to help accelerate the adoption of open source software across the globe and aid the community that develops and uses it. The OSL's talented team of students and full-time staff do this by focusing on a twofold strategy of software development and hosting some of the world's largest open source projects.
Our 2010 students' projects are posted here: http://code.google.com/p/google-summer-of-code-2010-osu-osl/
Projects
- Contributing to Pydra This project's aim is to move Pydra towards a 1.0 release through the implementation of wishlist features. The focus is on the addition of cloud provisioning, batch optimizations, and task runtime statistics.
- Pydra: a full MapReduce implementation The project focuses on implementing and improving all components of Pydra needed to run MapReduce tasks conveniently and efficiently. This includes implementing the new data-source API, adding support for non-relational databases as storage back-ends, implementing a resource API, and ideally reworking the current MapReduce code to make use of the new functionality.
