Your task

Create nice "toaster style" alert notifier to notify players when someone has joined the Bitfighter server. Notifier will use data from existing JSON data feed (http://bitfighter.org/bitfighterStatus.json). Different technologies will be considered, but the system must be distributable and self-contained. Notifiers should be installable and function independently of the main game.

Notifier will run on OSX system.
