rekonq does support the so called Web Shortcuts of KDE, just like Konqueror. What it does not yet have support though is the ability to add web shortcuts, by directly right-clicking on a search field on a website.

In Konqueror when you right-click on a search field, you get a context menu entry that says “Create Web Shortcut”, which then opens up a little dialog that allows you to add the shortcut for that specific search on that website.

Adding this feature to rekonq is the goal here.
