Getting started tutorial

Write and publish a "Getting started with GNOME development" tutorial, starting from a fresh install of a popular distribution (Fedora, Ubuntu, openSuse), and working through the installation of developer tools (and a basic explanation of what each tool does), creating your first application, and integrating it with the GNOME desktop in a basic way. Take inspiration from Maemo's Installing the Maemo SDK and Packaging tutorials. The goal is not to explain everything in detail - anywhere more detailed explanations are needed, links to more targeted documentation should be used. The goal is to allow a new developer sufficient mastery of the tools he needs to feel comfortable using them during the tutorial, and doesn't feel like it's all black magic.
